2026 Dempsey Challenge

This year, I’m running the 10K at the Dempsey Challenge for someone incredibly close to my heart – my mother, whose cancer came back last year. Every mile I run is a tribute to her strength, resilience, and unwavering courage. As with every race I take on, I use each step as motivation – not just to push myself physically, but to honor those who are fighting every single day. This time, the fight is deeply personal. The Dempsey Center provides essential services and support to individuals and families impacted by cancer, all at no cost. This year, I'm returning to the Dempsey Challenge to run the 10K in honor and in loving memory of my mom, who passed away earlier this year after her battle with cancer.

Last year, I ran for my mom as she courageously battled cancer. Every mile was my way of being with her every step of the way. This year, her love and strength will be with me through every mile.

A few weeks before she passed, I asked my mom if she wanted me to take on the Dempsey Challenge again. She smiled and said yes. The Dempsey Center meant so much to her and provided comfort, support, and compassion throughout her cancer journey. I told her it wouldn't be easy knowing she wouldn't be here, but I promised her I would.

Every mile I run is for her. It's a tribute to her strength, resilience, and unwavering courage, and to every person and family facing cancer.

The Dempsey Center provides essential services and support to individuals and families impacted by cancer, all at no cost. Their work makes a real difference, and with your help, more people can receive the same care, compassion, and support that meant so much to my mom during her cancer journey.
