Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page for this year's Dempsey Challenge!
As many of my friends and family know, in 2023 I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. In 2023 and 2024 I went through surgery and radiation. The effects of breast cancer don't end there. The medications you must take and impact of radiation last for years, if not the rest of your life.
To friends and family who have helped me through this journey so far, thank you. Your support has been invaluable.
The Dempsey Center also helps! The Dempsey Center makes life better for people impacted by cancer (all types of cancer) by easing the side effects and by improving their physical, emotional, social, familial, and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey--all at no cost.
I have been blessed to participated in yoga, tai-chi, strength training, sleep therapies, accupuncture, raiki, nutrition counseling, and more. And, most importantly, this has been my supportive cancer community! I truly don't know where I would be emotionally and physically without the support of The Dempsey Center and its wonderful staff and the people I have met who are going through the cancer journey themselves. If you want to learn more about this fabulous organization, please visit: https://www.dempseycenter.org/
The Dempsey Challenge is the premiere fundraising event for the Dempsey Center, a nonprofit founded by actor Patrick Dempsey. It takes place on September 19th. I will participate in the walk event with several of my beloved yoga class participants (and Craig), on the A Wee Ride team. Our team leader is Larry Langmore. If you want to see an inspiration video about Larry's journey and experience I encourage you to watch: https://www.facebook.com/reel/26043904418611251
With a donation made to my page, you can help support thousands of cancer patients, survivors, care partners, and their loved ones. Every dollar goes directly to the Dempsey Centers in Portland and Lewiston Maine. Gifts of any amount will provide no-cost support for years to come.
Thank you for your support!
