Maybe you're here because you love me. Or maybe you're here because you love Kim. Or maybe you're here because you love someone else whose life has been upended by cancer. Regardless of what brought you here, I'm glad you made it!

By now, you might be familiar with my best friend Kim. While she fought off stage four metastatic breast cancer for almost five years, I don't think cancer had any idea what a warrior she would be! She faced each setback and every tribulation with a smile on her face (an occasional middle finger to cancer) and unbounded optimism. Even when she had every reason to want to stop fighting, she didn't. Through a half dozen different types of chemo and multiple courses of radiation and long days and nights and weeks of sickness, Kim fought on because she simply didn't know any other way to exist. Just like cancer and a love of Christmas, perseverance was in her bones.

For the five years of Kim's battle, she never once stopped looking out for those around her. Her family and friends meant everything to her, but even the greater community got to benefit from Kim's fighting spirit. There's hardly a good deed in the state of Maine that doesn't have her fingerprints all over it. And because Kim did so much good for her community, now it's our turn to step up and #BeLikeKim. Those of us in Kimmy's Crew want to carry on her legacy of generosity by supporting a non-profit that meant so much to her and supported her when she most needed it.
