2026 Dempsey Challenge

Hello family + friends,

I reach out to share my excitement about participating in my 2nd Dempsey Challenge this September 19th! The broad spectrum of services the Dempsey Center offers is world class, as I can now personally attest.

From reiki to art therapy, yoga, individual counseling, nutrition workshops and farmer’s market access, the Demspey Center has provided an inclusive environment for myself (and other cancer patients and caregivers in Maine) to find meaningful support and social connection -without any burden of financial cost. It is difficult to imagine how I would have navigated treatment for early stage breast cancer the past several months, without this safe space.

My initial goal was to run the 5k portion of the event, but I'm taking recovery in stride so may opt to run/walk. Any support towards my involvement that you are able to provide would be most appreciated… cheering me on in spirit, on the event sidelines, or contributing a donation to support this exceptional non-profit organization!
