This September, I'll be participating in the Dempsey Challenge in the fantastic Lewiston, Maine as part of the Bates Women's Lacrosse team! It is a tradition that has been apart of our program since 2010!

The Dempsey Challenge is an annual fundraising event that supports the Dempsey Center, which is a nonprofit organization founded by Patrick Dempsey. The Dempsey Center provides free support services for those affected by cancer, including patients, survivors, caregivers, and family members. 100% of the money raised goes directly to these programs, so your support immediately funds cost-free care, such as specialized counseling and comfort therapies, that improve lives when it matters most.

This year, the Dempsey Center hopes to raise just about $2 million, and I've committed to raising $300 as part of that effort. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide resources and support to individuals and families navigating cancer. As an added bonus, if our team raises the most money in the College Cup (a competition between participating college teams), we have the opportunity to meet Patrick Dempsey himself!
