2026 Dempsey Challenge

The Dempsey Challenge is the premiere fundraising event for the Dempsey Center, a nonprofit founded by actor Patrick Dempsey. The Dempsey Center makes life better for people impacted by cancer by easing the side effects of cancer by improving their physical, emotional, social, familial, and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey--all at no cost.

My participation in the Dempsey Challenge started a number of years ago when I joined a team in memory of of my neighbor Mark's sister. This year, the ride is even more personal. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2025. Since that time, I've benefited from amazing care at New England Cancer Specialists and The Dempsey Center. Fortunately, my cancer was caught early and my prognosis is excellent.
