For Jenna

This year, I’ll be participating in the Dempsey Challenge in honor of my dear friend, Jenna Putala. Since August 9th, I have missed her every single day.

Jenna fought. She showed so much strength. She inspired. She made an impact on so many people, including me. She kept showing up through things most of us could never imagine, and I will forever be thankful that I got to call her my friend.

I’ve had a really hard time saying goodbye. A hard time seeing something that reminds me of her and ending up in tears. And a really hard time not being mad at this cancer bull crap that took someone who still had so much life left to live.

So this is my way of not saying goodbye. Instead, I’m choosing to remember you, honor you, and carry you with me.

I miss you, Jenna. This one is for you.
