On October 4th, I’ll be walking in my 5th Footsteps for Family Building Walk, and this year feels especially meaningful. It will be my first Walk as Executive Director of AllPaths Family Building, after several years as a volunteer. This community means so much to me, and I walk for many reasons close to my heart. I walk for the family my husband and I worked so hard to create, and for our two sons, who we were incredibly lucky to welcome thanks to IVF. I walk because everyone deserves access to the support, resources, and advocacy that AllPaths provides to people navigating infertility, loss, and many family building paths. I walk to stand with and support those who are still in the thick of their journeys, and to remind them that they are not alone. And now, as the Executive Director, I have the incredible privilege of helping lead an organization that I have believed in and been part of for years. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be to find your people, the people who truly “get it,” and how much lighter the hardest road can feel when you don’t have to walk it alone. The family building road can be long, difficult, and lonely. But on Walk day, you can see with your own eyes that none of us are alone.
