Why I Walk
It is hard for me to believe it has been nearly eight years since early onset Alzheimer's took my mother, Lynn Copelan, from our family at the young age of 72. I have dedicated my efforts to honor her legacy by helping lead the charge for this event and I am proud to say that through the enormous generosity of so many friends, colleagues, and family members I have personally raised nearly $15,000 through the years.
I hope you will join me in my commitment to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research, care and support. You can support my efforts by making a donation or joining my team and walking with me on November 7, 2026.
More than 6 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer's. Seventy-three percent are age 75 or older. About 1 in 9 people age 65 and older (10.7%) has Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's begins 20 years or more before memory loss and other symptoms develop. The time is now to act - let's support those who are already suffering and protect ourselves, our children and future generations from this devastating disease.
