We're making this a family tradition and couldn't be prouder! There’s a Parkinson’s Hero Walk coming up in October and we’d love your support! Mike's daughter, Lindsay, created a team - “Mike’s Mob” - to celebrate Mike and all of his hard work towards dealing with this difficult disease that’s changing so much of the man we all know and love. We’re also walking to celebrate his wife, Linda, a Caregiver Hero who is supporting him every step of the way, quite literally! (These two are avid walkers, keeping each other healthy and motivated) 

But most of all, we’re doing it to help the 35,000 individuals with Parkinson’s in Michigan. Funds raised for this event will support critical programs and services that help ensure no person with Parkinson’s in our great state is without quality care and support. 

Here are two ways you can help:

Walk with us - My dad might not be the hockey star he used to be but he’ll be (slowly) walking right alongside us and we’d love for you to join. 

• The walk is on October 10, 9am-12pm at Aquinas College (1580 Fulton St, Grand Rapids, MI) - right down the street from Lindsay's house!
• Participation costs $20, which will be added to our team’s donation goals. 
• The walk features a 1 or 3 mile route, Parkinson's exercise demonstrations, and entertainment for the whole family. 

Donate to help us reach our goal - We reached our goal last year, so we upped it this year! Anything you can give would make a difference. We know Mike will be touched (and probably shocked) by your donation, but you’ll also be touching the lives of so many with Parkinson’s. 

The revenues from our fundraising events are essential to help ensure that no person with Parkinson’s in Michigan and their families are without quality care and support. The need for MPF’s respite care program has increased twenty-fold, providing $10,000 to families in 2018 to more than $283,000 and 13,885 hours to 176 families in 2024.  Over 13,500 individuals served through MPF exercise classes and 2,116 served through educational programs statewide. To date, we have been able to say “YES” to all that need our help with support from individuals like you.
