Friendship Bridge serves over 37,000 women whose access to preventive healthcare is rarely an option. This lack of healthcare only perpetuates the cycle of poverty. To further our mission of creating opportunities that empower Guatemalan women to build a better life, our Health for Life program provides health education and preventive services. We provide culturally-sensitive services using domiciliary and mobile clinics that travel to the villages where our clients live. Each clinic is staffed by highly-trained female medical staff fluent in the indigenous languages our clients speak.
The Need
Friendship Bridge is now running the Health for Life program in eight of our branches in rural areas of Guatemala. Your gift helps provide clients access to healthcare services including diabetes and hypertension screening, women's health exams such as cervical, breast, and papanicolaou exams, and more.
