The ABS Trojan Volleyball program is honored to participate in the 2026 Huntsville Walk in support of the National Ataxia Foundation, a cause that is deeply personal to my family.

This is a cause that is deeply personal to our JV coaching staff. Father to JV head coach Judith Shaver, grandfather to Assistant coach EA Winland and Assistant coach Jeff Shaver's  father-in-law, Lee Fulcher, is battling Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 6 (SCA6), a progressive neurological disease that affects balance, coordination, speech, and everyday mobility. Watching someone you love face the challenges of ataxia gives this walk a meaning that goes far beyond fundraising for me.

We are walking to help fund research that will impact every family affected by ataxia, and for the hope that research will lead to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
