This year marks my 20th year supporting Little Lights. I found Little Lights when I moved to DC and wanted to give back to my community. I started tutoring kids who came from economically challenged neighborhoods and were not likely to graduate high school. I loved watching the kids improve their skills and develop a love of learning. Little Lights gave them a meal, helped them with their homework, and gave them a safe place to spend their nights. One highlight has been that many kids have graduated and even gone on to college, the first in their family. I now serve on the board to continue supporting this great work.
