Participating in the Preeclampsia Promise Walk is deeply meaningful to me because it represents a journey I never expected to face. Just five days after giving birth, I was readmitted to the hospital with postpartum preeclampsia with severe features—a frightening and overwhelming experience during what should have been a joyful time. The symptoms didn’t just go away after treatment; they lingered for months, impacting my recovery, my ability to function, and my early days as a parent. This walk is more than just an event—it’s a way to honor that experience, raise awareness about the reality of postpartum preeclampsia, and support other families who may be going through something similar. By walking, I’m turning a difficult chapter into something purposeful, helping to advocate for better education, earlier recognition, and stronger support for mothers everywhere.
