Why I Walk

As a clinical lab director and researcher, I've seen preeclampsia's impact professionally, but this year it's personal. Last Halloween, my daughter developed severe preeclampsia, resulting in my grandson Jack's harrowing emergency 32-week delivery followed by a long scary NICU journey. While they are now both thriving, I walk to support vital research on the prediction, prevention and prognosis of preeclampsia so other families may not have to face this traumatic and often devastating ordeal.
