I walk to raise awareness about pre-eclampsia and the importance of prompt diagnosis and treatment. I was found to have severe blood pressures at my 38 week prenatal visit. Prior to this, I had been having vague symptoms like headaches, shortness of breath, and fatigue, but attributed them to my pregnancy. I was sent for an urgent c-section that night and received magnesium and IV medications to quickly treat the blood pressures. Thanks to my care team, baby and I are safe and doing well. I'm thankful every day that my condition was quickly identified and stabilized, and that we had a good outcome.
