Lighthouse's Spring Campaign is focused on raising funds for Low Vision Services, a new program which offers an array of rehabilitation services including orientation and mobility training, activities of daily living skills training in the home, vision loss information and referral, outreach presentations, and instruction on devices and aids.
I joined the board at Lighthouse ~two years ago, on a mission to serve an organization that was personal to me. As most of you know, I have an eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa. My version of RP is somewhat unusual, progressing slowly and in a patchy way (meaning, I continue to have solid vision that corrects well, although y'all know how much I love my super bright flashlight!). Over time, it's possible, and probably likely, my vision will continue to degrade, which is why Lighthouse's mission and work is so very important to me.
