Attention Animal Lovers and Advocates
On Saturday October 3, 2026, The Loki Project will be participating in the Capital Area Humane Society's Walk for the Animals. We will be walking with hearts full of gratitude, hope and purpose. Join us!
In 2025, we lost our Loki Boy - He was our soul dog and the inspiration behind everything we do. In his honor, my partner and I founded The Loki Project, a foster and rescue project dedicated to giving homeless animals the same chance at love, safety and happiness that every animal deserves. Loki continues to guide our mission to help animals in need through the love he gave us, the lessons he taught us and the legacy he left behind.
Through our rescue and foster work, we've observed firsthand how many animals are waiting for someone to believe in them or commit to offering them a second chance. Each day animals arrive at shelters scared, abandoned, surrendered or simply out of options. We've seen scared animals learn to trust again, overlooked pets become beloved family members and countless lives transformed through the power of kindness, patience, and community support. The Capital Area Humane Society works tirelessly to provide food, shelter, medical care and compassion during some of the hardest moments in these animals' lives.
As animal lovers and advocates, we all know that saving lives takes a community. YOU are an important part of that community.
The Capital Area Humane Society's lifesaving work is made possible by selfless supporters who care about our community. CAHS holds a special place in our hearts for another reason. Last July, we adopted our rescue dog Fitz from CAHS. Like so many shelter animals, Fitzgerald simply needed someone willing to believe he was worth a fighting chance. Watching him thrive in our loving home has been a beautiful reminder of why rescue work and adoption truly matters. One act of compassion can change a life forever.
This year we are walking for every animal still waiting for their second chance. We are walking for the foster pets who have come through The Loki Project. We are walking for animals like Fitz, whose life changed because someone said "yes" ...
And of course, We are walking in honor of Loki, whose legacy lives on through every animal we foster and every life we are fortunate enough to be apart of. Loki’s story didn't end when we lost him. It lives on in every rescue, every foster, every adoption and every animal who gets a chance to be loved the way we loved him.
