Our family walked in the AIDS Walk for the first time when our oldest son was just a baby (that's him in the picture, 1995.)  Now, 24 years later, we still walk because the HIV/AIDS epidemic continues to affect too many people-- those living with HIV, those at risk for HIV, and all of their loved ones.  As many of you know, Ellen worked for many years in HIV prevention and education, and continues to do HIV counseling and testing as a volunteer for LAAN.  Over the years we have counted as friends and colleagues many people living with HIV, and we have lost too many of them.  So we walk in their memory, we walk in solidarity with those currently living with HIV and we walk so that all those in need of prevention or care services can receive them.
