My favorite weekend of the year is just around the corner: the Disney Princess Half Maration weekend February 20-24, 2025! Just as in years past, we will be running for our Sweet Caroline and Girl Power 2 Cure to support them in their efforts to raise funds for research to find a cure for Rett Syndrome.

As you may know, Rett Syndrome is a debilitating neurological disorder that predominantly affects females (but can also affect boys) and is the leading genetic cause of severe neurological impairment in girls. While children are born “normal,” they begin fto lose acquired skills between 1 and 3 years old. Most lose their ability to speak, walk or use their hands, and depend on their families for every part of their day. Complications also include seizures, scoliosis, and the potential for sudden death.

Today, there is no cure. But we know that Rett Syndrome is potentially CURABLE based on recent experimental treatments that have reversed the Rett mutation in mice. 

I am so excited to have my daughter Rylan joining our Sweet Caroline's Crew after a few years hiatus. We are running for all of our Rett warriors but especially for our Caroline and Aunt Bean. Won't you consider sponsoring us this year?
