I never imagined MDS would become such a big part of my life.
When my wife, Desy, was diagnosed, we were thrown into a world we knew nothing about. We learned more medical terms than we ever wanted to know. We held onto hope through every appointment, every treatment, and every setback. On March 19, 2026, I lost the love of my life.
I’m doing this because I don’t want Desy’s story to end with her. If sharing what she went through helps someone recognize the disease sooner, inspires research, or gives another family more time together, then it’s worth it.
Every step I take is for her. For the life we planned but didn’t get to live. For every family facing MDS today. And for the hope that one day, someone else’s story will have a different ending.
