My name is Tami Hathaway and in December of 2015 my husband Adam and I welcomed our daughter Kennedy to the world 15 weeks early. We had never known anyone to have a baby so early and were unaware of the complications she would face. Kennedy was soon transferred to Children's NICU in Minneapolis where she stayed for the next 9 months. She experienced a multitude of breathing issues, pulmonary hypertension, brain bleeds, ROP, eating and other physical delays. It was the most difficult time in our lives but no matter what position they held, the staff at Children's were the ones who helped us the most. Simply put, they saved us.

I am part of a team that is raising money for the Neonatology department at Children's, for those people who changed our lives and helped Kennedy when we could not. Kennedy came home for the first time in September 2016 and  has been doing wonderfully. I know that I am able to say that because of those in Children's NICU who dedicate their lives to helping babies just like Kennedy every day.
