As many of you know, our grand-daughter Kennedy was born at 25 weeks, coming into this world weighing 1 pound 6 ounces. She was born in Waconia and quickly transported to Childrens NICU in Minneapolis where we were able to meet her for the first time. Needless to say our hearts melted immediately. She was so small, but yet you could see such a fighter. As Kennedy remained in the NICU, her strength, will and determination were quickly seen. She was definitely a tough little girl. Life was not easy however by any means for her. At times it felt like we were on a roller coaster ride with the ups and downs incurred. The staff; doctors, nurses, respiratory staff along with PT and OT kept us all well informed. When days seemed tough they were by our sides reassuring us that everything is being done as needed. Unfortunately some of the ups and downs is normal and something they have come to expect enabling the staff to reassure us to have hope, faith and plainly just love this gift infront of us. I cannot say enough good things about the staff; they truly were our rock.

Kennedy was able to come home after 9 long months in the NICU. She came home with around the clock nursing care. Once Kennedy came home, Tami and Adam quickly took over the majority of her cares. Kennedy thrived and continues to thrive today now crawling and wanting to be on her feet most of the time. She loves spending time with her dog Tucker, her Kitty Lily and her idols Sophia along with Minnie and Mickey Mouse.

Our family is walking to raise funds for this amazing organization and everything they have done not only for Kennedy but other children as well.
