I am blessed every day that I am able to be a part of a team making a difference in the lives of children affected by pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB). PPB is a very rare childhood lung cancer. The International Pleuropulmonary Blastoma (PPB) Registry, based at Children's Minnesota, is leading the way, worldwide, into finding the cause, and hopefully the cure, of this  disease that affects very young children.

Now in its 32nd year, the Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic (PTATC) Tournament has always provided stable funding for the Registry. This year the PTATC annual race has been combined with two other summer races hosted by Children’s Minnesota.

The Race for Childen’s: HeartBeat 5000 will be on Saturday, June 24th at Father Hennepin Park in Minneapolis.  There will still be a Kids Fun Run and a 5K Run/Walk, and there will be a lot more fun activities, including entertainment by Koo Koo Kanga Roo!

I'm racing as part of the Registry. Our team name is PPB Heroes. I encourage all of you to come out and participate either in person, or by being a “virtual” team member.
