Thank you to everyone that joined us for our first Young Heroes 5K Walk/Run and Kiddie K!  We had a gorgeous day with over 600 people in attendance and raising over $45,000 for the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders!  We will be back in 2020 and we hope everyone will join us again next year!

Heroes come in all shapes and size.  Here at NCCBD, our heroes are the kids that face cancer, sickle cell disease, hemophilia and other blood disorders every day. 

Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (NCCBD) is very excited to announce its first 5K Walk/Run and Kiddie K on September 29, 2019!  The event will take place at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hostpital for Children with registation starting at 8am.  Kiddie K begins at 8:30am. 5K Walk/Run starts at 9am.

The NCCBD offers patient - and family - centered pediatric oncology and hematology care that includes the full range of clinical and support services alongside internationally recognized research programs. Less than 5% of U.S. government funding is dedicated to all childhood cancer research and funding is greatly needed.

The “Young Heroes 5K Walk/Run and Kiddie K” will raise funds for research and patient services at NCCBD at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.  You will have the option to run or walk the 5K and kids twelve and under will have the option of participating in the Kiddie K!  In addition to the race, the morning will be filled with a car show, food trucks, vendors and lots of family fun!

You can join us an individual or participate in a team!   All registrations will include a special tee-shirt and we will have fundraising incentives along the way!  

Whether you walk or run, you will be helping children like Cece (pictured on the far right in our event header above), who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL).  Read Cece's full story...
