Over this past winter break my fellow classmates and I had the pleasure of being chaperoned in Thailand by our Ajarns Wayne, Bob, and Shannon. This experience allowed for us to get to know and be inspired by our teachers in a very unique and impactful way. After losing Wayne during this time we had the opportunity to reflect on how knowing him had changed our lives. It is common to reflect on people's memories when they pass but I had truly never met such a kind and good natured person before meeting Ajarn Wayne. I remember how even on a grueling hike in the middle of the jungle he was still peppy and cracking jokes as we were all baking in the heat; trying to lift our spirits. I have no personal connection to the Ronald McDonald house but as it was Wayne's favorite charity I wish to honor the memory of one of the best men I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I, and everyone who knew him, miss him greatly but I hope this small description helps to describe Wayne as the wonderful role model he was and is.
