Cahil spent roughly 18 years in and out of Children's Hospital under the great care of Dr. Katkov and Dr. Sighn in the cardiology unit. The Children's Hospital became a second home for him and for my family. After Cahil received a new heart, at the age of 18, he became an advocate for organ donation. He spent time speaking at conferences and was even honored for his work in 1999 at the Heart Gala hosted by the American Heart Association.

Unfortunately, within four and a half years of his transplant, he lost his battle to his disease. Without Children's knowledge, perserverance, amazing staff and their efforts to give the best care possible to my brother those precious years could have been shorter. The Children's hospital will forever hold a special place in my families heart.
