Cahil spent roughly 18 years in and out of Children's hospital under the great care of Dr. Katkov and Dr. Sighn in the cardiology unit. Not only was Childrens a second home for him, it became a second home for my family as well. Cahil received a new heart at the age of 18 and became an advocate for organ donation. He spent time speaking at conferences and was recognized for his work at the Heart Gala from the American Heart Association. Within four short years after his transplant he lost the battle to his disease. Without Children's knowledge, perservernace and efforts to give the best care possible to my brother the years could have been shorter. Children's holds a special place in our family's heart.
