Many of you know Elin's story but if you want to hear it again, our little girl was born 8 weeks premature. We were fortunate to have her admitted at Children's Hospital of Minneapolis.
Because Elin was born with full lung function, she never needed to go on oxygen and was admiited to Special Care Nursery for her 6 week stay instead of the NICU. Elin did well during her stay - she learned how to eat, gained weight and start thriving so we got to take her home about a short 6 week stay
We also had the support of our loving friends and family and were fortunate to live close to the hospital so Ed and I could visit Elin as much as we wanted day or night.
Many families are not so luck- their babies are born far earlier, with more problems, require open heart surgery, organ transplants. Not all live close by, have great health insurance coverage or meet their liftime maximum.
Please help Elin, Ed and I support the babies that need so much help.
