My Personal Fundraising Page

I became aware of Meals on Wheels some years ago through my job at Fluor.  Fluor supported Meals on Wheels by promoting the charity on campus, allowing insulated bags of meals to be dropped off in the lobbies for employee volunteers to deliver during their lunch time, and by being a major sponsor for the Wheels For Meals annual bike event.  Fluor also sponsored a Bike Team that rode in various events and was a major fund raiser for the event.  I became involved with the Bike Team and learned how much Meals on Wheels did for the shut-ins in the Greenville area.  Through Meals on Wheels people received a hot lunch five days a week at no cost.  I rode in numerous Wheels for Meals rides and fundraised for the event.  I also began being a substitute route driver and learned first hand how much the "clients" needed and appreciated the meals and the daily contact with someone.

Fast forward to 2020, I am retired, still riding my bike, and delivering meals three (3) Fridays a month.  I have enjoyed getting know the people on my route and have learned how much Meals on Wheels depends on volunteers and donations to provide thousands of meals each week.  Wheels for Meals is THE major event for fundraising and was way off the mark last year due to Covid.  I am hoping my participation and fundraising will help boost this year's event.

Please donate whatever you can to help make this a good year for the organization and all the people who benefit from these efforts.
