As some of you know, my current chapter in Japan will be drawing to a close in the coming weeks. One of the most special memories of my time here was participating in a walk for charity with my sister and 2 friends. We walked the entire Yamanote Line (train line) in Tokyo, and while I’ve wanted to participate in the event again, I haven’t been able to.
This year, Hawai’i Health & Harm Reduction Center is holding their annual AIDS Walk virtually, and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do this walk again while supporting another life-saving cause.
If you are unfamiliar with the Yamanote Line, it’s the loop line that connects 30 stations, runs 21.4 miles, and passes through some of the busiest train stations in the world.
In thanks for your donation, I’ll send you a personalized postcard with a photo taken in front of the station of your choice!
While you donations can be made on this site through the end of June, if you’d like to receive a postcard, please make your donation and let me know which train station you’d like a postcard of by May 31st.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Yamanote Line, here is a graphic designed by a Japanese netizen. It was created as a joke, but the descriptions are kind of accurate!
To say this year has been hard would be an understatement. If you’re unable to make a donation, that’s 110% okay! I appreciate your even making the time to check out my fundraising page. ^^
Mahalo for your support and very much looking forward to seeing you when I get home!
