Please give to the APDA
For me, Parkinson’s research and support is personal.
So far, I’ve had it relatively easy. I can still drive, I can still walk without help, and even the hallucinations I get have been more strange than scary. But I can’t move or think the way I used to, and Parkinson’s forced me into early retirement. Others aren’t so lucky, their symptoms are far more severe.
What people don’t always realize is that Parkinson’s isn’t just an “old person’s disease.” More and more people are being diagnosed in the prime of their lives, raising families, building careers, planning their futures. Then Parkinson’s changes everything.
Over one million Americans live with PD, and every six minutes someone new is diagnosed. There’s still no cure, and the best medicine we have has been around for more than 50 years.
That’s why I’m walking in the APDA Optimism Walk. I’m raising money to fund research and to support people living with Parkinson’s right now.
If you can, please give generously. Your support brings us closer to better treatments, more resources, and, one day, a cure.
