Many of you know about my passion for finding a cure for cancer. When I began fundraising for the Avon Walk to End Breast Cancer 7 years ago I had no idea that childhood cancers were so different from adult cancers. I also had no idea that research and support for childhood cancers was so underfunded. OUR KIDS DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS!
ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation provides assistant and support to kids and their families in the Central Virginia area who have received this devestating diagnosis. Just a few of the ways ASK helps are:
Financial assistance such as helping a family pay their mortgage or other bills
The "Welcome Home" program, which helps families modify or clean their home based on medical needs.
Dedicated staff to support therapy, psychological and/or spiritual needs.
After-school tutoring, summer enrichment programs, and a preschool program.
Social events for the whole family.
Moving Forward Wellness Program and Late Effects information sessions for survivors.
My 5 year old daughter, Lily, and I will be participating in the 2018 ASK 5K & Fun Walk on April 28th in Richmond, VA! We are aiming to raise $1,000! Will you help us reach our goal?
