More Than Shelter—It’s a Pathway to Purpose
Star Gospel Mission
Since 1904, Star Gospel Mission has faithfully extended a hand up—through the love of Christ—to individuals facing economic, emotional, spiritual, and physical hardship.
We provide transitional housing for men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and walk alongside them as they rebuild their lives. We believe that no one’s lowest moment defines their story. Through the love of Christ, counseling, job training, and supportive services, we empower our guests to thrive as interdependent members of the Charleston community. We also respond to urgent needs by offering emergency assistance to individuals and families in crisis.
Our 3rd Annual event, A Walk In Their Shoes, has three important goals:
-
Raise awareness about the Mission’s vital work throughout Charleston.
-
Educate participants about the real challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness and addiction.
-
Raise critical funds to directly support the men (women & children by the end of summer) living at the Mission as they pursue stability, hope, and lasting transformation.
