My Personal Fundraising Page
I came to know about AIDS Walk Miami through the Miami Gay Men's Chorus. They have always participated so I became a part of their team. I have quite a few loved ones who have died from AIDS. My first partner passed away from AIDS in 1987. Shortly after, my best friend passed away from AIDS, and I had become well aware of the critical situation. Later, my first cousin passed away from AIDS.
Currently, I have friends who are living with HIV and are maintaining their health. I've become very aware of the needs of those living with HIV. It's important to keep fundraising to support HIV/AIDS services now because the need is greater than ever. I've been making phone calls and sending e-mails. People with compromised immune systems can experience serious effects from this virus. We have to be aware of our individual safety, but we cannot lose sight of the fact that there are people who are more vulnerable. We can practice caution while we keep watching out for others.
