My reasoning for this trek is not quite a succint as Mr. Mallory's but I'm going anyway!

When Chris first proposed that I join him on this trip and raise funds for Save One Life, I told him that I couldn't commit until I dove into the mission (not to mention determine if I could physically do it!). I didn't realize quite how deep an impact they have in the lives of the people they support. In going through that process and learning the details of what Save One Life does, I have gained an appreciation for the life-changing, and in many cases life-saving, work that they provide to people across the globe. A large majority of the people they serve would not otherwise be able to receive treatment. As a non-profit leader who works to improve the lives of my constituents every day, I now truly empathize with the profound work that Save One Life is doing.

I am incredibly excited for this trek to A) bring more awareness to the life-saving work that Save One Life does, B) see first hand the impact that they have in a third world environment, and C) physically challenge myself while exploring a part of the world that I not only never expected to visit but, until now, seemed unreachable.

I greatly appreciate any support that you are able to provide in supporting this trek and Save One Life. I also encourage you to learn more about their mission and impact around the globe.

And don't worry, for those of you that have generously supported my efforts for E.C. Week and Best Buddies over the years, I will be carrying those flags as well and look forward to flying them at base camp upon arrival.
