This is the 31st annual Bikes Not Bombs BIke-A-Thon and I think my 8th.  BnB is a great organization with both local and international programs. Locally collect donattions of used bicycles and bicycle parts and then clean up and add new parts as necessary to these bikes to sale at their shop in Jamaica Plain, my own neighborhood in Boston. This takes these bikes out of the landfill and onto the streets!  They also teach neighborhood kids how to work on bikes.  Through the "earn-a-bike" program, kids that attend the classes and learn how to work on bikes get to keep the bike they have built.  This is practical--a bike to ride!--and a point of pride--I built it myself!  Internationally, they send containers of bikes and bike parts to low income countries, with a mechanic, so they can have these for very useful and sustainable transportation.  Win-Win!  Please support my ride and Bikes Not Bombs with a generous donation.  I'm going to make it easy on you--the ride is only 2 days away!  Don't dawdle and delay--just click on the "Donate Now" tab and send in a donation!
