If you know me and my mom, you know we love to bike everywhere and love to support Bikes Not Bombs (BNB), an organization committed to bringing bicycling into people's lives here in Boston and around the world.  I have biked to school with my mom almost every single day even in the winter for as long as I can remember. My mom and I have always biked together in the Bike-A-Thon, but this year she is working the event as a staff member of BNB, so I have decided to keep the tradition and bike the 10 miles again! 

Here's some info about Bikes Not Bombs from my mom: BNB is a mission driven organization that has been advocating the bicycle as a vehicle for social change and empowerment for over 30 years.  At the local level, Youth Pathways Programs like Earn-A-Bike and Girls In Action teach teens bicycle safety and maintenance, environmentalism, and build confidence and all while enabling them to earn a bike of their own they built themselves! Local teens are also able to participate in Youth Pathways Employment Programs which focus on professional development skills including peer leadership. Internationally, BNB repurposes and ships 1000s of bikes annually to economic development programs through partners in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
