I’m excited to be participating in the BEN DID GO 11.0 paddle this September 19th. It is an endurance prone paddle from Avalon California to the Newport Beach pier. The entire event takes between 7 to 8 hours, and covers just over 30 miles.
To be eligible to participate in the paddle, each paddler is asked to raise $2,000 to donate to the Ben Carlson Foundation. This foundation raises money for ocean and water safety locally and world wide, along with kids scholarships, and much more. Ben Carlson was a lifeguard that died on duty while saving a life. This paddle is particularly important to me as I was a lifeguard for Huntington Beach, and now a Firefighter for the Orange County Fire Authority. Ben and I had many mutual friends and I feel compelled to this cause.
