On September 19, I’ll be taking on a challenge that is both physically demanding and deeply meaningful to me—paddling 32 miles from Avalon Harbor on Catalina Island to Newport Beach as part of BENDIDGO 11.0 to raise money for the Ben Carlson Foundation.

This will be my 7th year participating in BENDIDGO, and over the years, this event has become much more than just a fundraiser. It’s become a cause that I’m truly proud to be part of.

Last year, my son joined me in BENDIDGO, and this year he has taken another step in that journey—he is now a lifeguard. Watching him grow into someone who helps keep others safe in the water has made this cause even more personal and meaningful to our family.

The ocean has given our family so many incredible experiences, but it also demands respect. The Ben Carlson Foundation does important work promoting water safety, education, and awareness, helping others understand the ocean and hopefully preventing tragedies.

On September 19, I’ll be spending hours on the water, one paddle stroke at a time, with the goal of making those 32 miles count for something bigger than myself.
