I’m super stoked to be participating in the BEN DID GO, a 30-mile prone paddle event from Catalina Island to the Newport Beach Pier, raising funds for the Ben Carlson Foundation.
The foundation was created in honor of Newport Beach Lifeguard Ben Carlson. On July 6, 2014, Ben tragically lost his life while making a rescue. Because of his actions, the person he was saving survived. His legacy continues through the foundation and a life-sized statue that now stands at the base of the Newport Beach Pier.
Funds raised through this event support ocean safety and youth programs, including:
● Ocean lifeguard and water safety training programs around the world
● Development of new lifeguard programs in underserved countries
● College scholarships for local lifeguards
● Junior Lifeguard summer programs for disadvantaged youth
My personal fundraising goal is $2,200, and I truly appreciate any support—whether that’s a donation or just helping to raise awareness of the Ben Carlson Foundation.
Thank you so much for being part of this with me.
