Hi Neighbors,
This year I've been volunteering each week at Bikes Not Bombs. In June, I'm riding in the BNB Bike-A-Thon fundraiser. I'm reaching out to ask you to join me in supporting BNB in whatever way you can. Donations of any amount are appreciated.
My favorite BNB programs are Bike School and Youth Apprenticeships. In Bike School, young folks earn a bike of their own by taking apart a donated bike, making any necessary repairs, and putting it back together better than new! What a fantastic learning experience and confidence builder with a tangible reward.
In Youth Apprenticeships, teens learn some serious bike mechanic skills and then put them to work through community repair clinics, preparing refurbished bikes to be shipped overseas, and advocating for bike safety in Boston and beyond.
BNB is an amazing community organization! Located in Jamaica Plain, BNB uses the bicycle as a vehicle for social change to promote economic mobility for marginalized people locally in the Boston area and internationally in the Global South.
Each week, I look forward to my weekly volunteer night at BNB. I've learned a lot about bike mechanic skills and have met many cool folks.
Please forward this message to anyone who you think might be interested in supporting the good works of BNB and thank you for your support of this great community organization!
