I’m thrilled to be participating in Bike-A-Thon 2026, a fundraiser supporting Bikes Not Bombs! I’m passionate about this cause and need your help! Every donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.

I think I have been supporting BNB and the Bike-a-thon since at least 2007.... and in less than two short weeks, I will be once again riding in the Bikes Not Bombs Bike-a-Thon!
I do this to help raise money for Bikes Not Bombs, an organization that has been using the bicycle as a vehicle for social change for over 40 years. For most of those years, the Bike-a-Thon has been a major fundraising event for them.

Bikes Not Bombs is now led by Elijah Evans, who I met when he was a youth participant in the Earn a Bike program. He has strengthened the organization’s connections to the local community and deepened youth programming, while retaining the international development programs. BNB has shipped bikes to programs in Rwanda, is working on a shipment to Kenya, and continues to support programs in Latin America. Elijah knows from personal experience how much Bikes Not Bombs has to offer local youth, as well as the global community.

Using the thousands of bicycles they reclaim annually, Bikes Not Bombs teaches skills, provides jobs, and offers affordable and sustainable transportation to youth and adults in Boston and across the Global South. The importance of this work becomes clearer every year.
