I have ridden in the Bikes Not Bombs annual Bike-A-Thon for about 15 years. It's the best kind of charitable organization. It acts locally: they have a good local bike shop where they recondition used bikes for sale and decrease bikes going to landfills. They also teach local kids how to work on bikes and they get to build their own bike and keep it!  And they send containers of bikes to low income countries as bikes are an affordable, practical, and a green form of transportation.  Bikes Not Bombs operates on a shoestring budget and wastes nothing. Please give something and give generously if you can!

Here's a summary of BnB activity in the last year:

The international program has been able to ship 2 containers to partners in Rwanda - Learn WorkDevelop (LWD), & CESTA in El Salvador so far this year. We hope to make 2 more shipments to other partners before years end.

In 2021 to date we have had over 75 young people come through our doors as program participants,youth apprentices, volunteers, working as instructors, sales staff & shop mechanics. Some of them will continue to work with us into next school year.

The bike shop has almost been non stop building & refurbishing bikes to keep up with the unprecedenteddemand for bikes & repair services.

We also acquired the lease to the adjoining Pretzel Factory space in the brewery complex which we planto renovate over the next 2 years.
