Dear Friends,

Due to the Corona Virus we are unable to host the typical meal for Project Lazarus’ Bon Appétit fund raiser. However, we Marianite Sisters of Holy Cross are offering you a soul food experience. The month of September holds two special feast day celebrations for us: the Exaltation of the Cross (9/14) and the Seven Sorrows of Mary (9/15).

We invite you to join us from the comfort of your own home and computer, cell phone, or iPad screen to share in what has nourished our religious Congregation since 1841. The above mentioned feasts have been the menu for year-round graces and food for our souls.

Our Mission Statement in part calls us “…to stand with the excluded…” Sr. Judith Gomila, MSC, serves on the Board for Project Lazarus whose own reason for existence states: “The mission of Project Lazarus is to help heal and empower people living with HIV/AIDS by focusing on wellness, providing housing and offering important support services.”

Our Marianite Leadership Team is offering to donate to the Bon Appétit fund raiser $50 for each of our 107 sisters. In turn, we invite you to feast on our prayerful devotions and to consider making a gift of $5.00 or more to Project Lazarus using the "Donate" button under the thermometer on this page.

Please help us double our donation and reach a goal of $10,720.

Hungry? Not sure for what? Whet your appetite with the Marianites and feast on our spirituality – as relevant today as it was 179 years ago. At the same time support a much deserved social service outreach.

This year is a little different, so I am celebrating Bon Appétit "Chez Vous"- at home!

Bon Appétit is a major fundraising event for Project Lazarus, an organization that I am very passionate about. They provide housing and social services for people living with HIV and need our help now, more than ever. They have remained open during the pandemic and taken every possible measure to ensure a safe place for their community to call home. Despite the circumstances, they still offered mental health counseling, housing case management, social services, and educational opportunities and continue to fulfil their mission of healing and empowering people living with HIV. 

This is where you come in! To help ensure that Project Lazarus can continue meeting this critical need, I am asking you to support my "Bon Appetit" party! 100% of your donation goes directly to Project Lazarus.
