Hannah Perri in Loving Memory of Karen Fundaro

In Loving Memory of Karen Fundaro

Karen Theresa Fundaro, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on Staten Island, NY, after a courageous 6-month battle with a neurological brain disorder. Born on August 5, 1956, to Jean and Andrew Fundaro, Karen’s infectious warmth and gentleness touched the lives of all who knew her.

Karen is survived by her beloved twin sisters, Lucille and Maria, and her cherished daughter, Hannah Jean Perri, who was the sunshine of her life. Karen’s life purpose and joy was devoted to raising her daughter to become a strong, independent, woman of Christ. 29 years later, Hannah has become a true testament to her mother’s strength and devotion. Their unique bond will forever live on.

Beyond her immediate family, Karen's presence was a gift to all who crossed paths with her.

Karen's professional journey was marked by an impressive 30+ year tenure at American Express, where she served as an Executive Assistant to the General Counsel. Her work ethic, professionalism, and dedication made her a respected figure within the company. Colleagues remember her as the heart of the office, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand. Her involvement in the GCO EA network and the SALT Colleague Network was marked by her commitment to service and excellence. She was known for her ability to bring people together, and she did so with grace and efficiency. Her service extended far beyond her professional life. Karen's deep faith led her to serve as a missionary overseas, impacting lives far from her own neighborhood. Karen participated in the Church Woman's Group and as a Sunday School teacher. Her faith was her guiding light, and she shared that light generously with everyone around her.

Karen's interests reflected her love for the simple, beautiful moments in life. She cherished her time at the beach, taking early morning walks on the boardwalk, and the tranquility of sitting on her back porch with a hot cup of coffee, reading the bible and reflecting on the blessings of life.

Throughout her life, Karen was the epitome of kindness and loving nature. She approached every day with a smile and believed in the goodness of people. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and the power of kindness—values that will endure in the hearts of her loved ones.

As we bid farewell to Karen Theresa Fundaro, we celebrate a life well-lived and honor the remarkable woman she was. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our memories and through her daughter, Hannah Jean. Karen's journey on this earth may have ended too soon, but the impact of her gentle soul will never be forgotten.
