When our mother was diagnosed with CJD, our family was stunned, confused, scared and unbelievably sad. We had never heard of this disease, and we really struggled to accept this new reality. We scoured the internet for all the research we could find to try to understand what our mother was experiencing and what we could expect moving forward.
