In memory of our husband/father/grandfather, Mark Browning, we are raising funds to support the CJD Foundation and its critical work.

Mark was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a rare and devastating prion disease, in October and tragically succumbed to the illness just weeks later in November. Like many families facing CJD, we were thrust into an unfamiliar and overwhelming diagnosis with little public awareness and limited resources.

The CJD Foundation was instrumental in helping us understand prion diseases, navigate the diagnosis, and find support during Mark’s rapid decline and end-of-life care. Their guidance, compassion, and expertise made an impossible situation more bearable for our family.

Many patients suffering from rapidly progressing dementia are later found to have CJD, with official diagnosis often coming only after death due to limited testing options and a lengthy diagnostic process. As a result, countless cases are initially misdiagnosed, and research, education, and family support for prion diseases remain critically underserved.
