In Loving Memory of Lisa A. Smelter

May 4, 1965-June 6, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa A Smelter on June 6, 2026 at the young age of 61. Lisa was a devoted wife, beloved mother, sister, daughter and friend. Everyone she knew cherished her for her strength, compassion, humor and unwavering love for her family.

Born on May 4, 1965 to William and Sherri Abermoske, Lisa always had a passion for learning, problem solving, adventure and the lake. She dedicated her work to helping others through guidance and leadership with a talent in communication. She cared immensely for the well-being of her patients and colleagues. She could easily be called a modern day super hero as she often went above and beyond the call of duty to help anyone in need.

She was described by her family and close friends as the life of the party, the person who always lifted others up and who empowered those to be their authentic selves. She brought the sparkle and magic to everything she did.

Lisa was diagnosed with a very rare neurodegenerative brain disease called Creutzfeldt-Jackob Disease (CJD) in early May 2026. In lieu of flowers we ask that you kindly donate to the CJD Foundation to help further research, understanding of the disease, assist others in a similar situation and ultimately find a cure.
