Lisa Rogers of Wylie, Texas, passed peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Lisa was diagnosed with the prion disease - Creutzfeldt-Jakob, earlier that month. She leaves behind a truly amazing husband, Larry, and two terrific children, De and Jared, who cared for her lovingly. Everyone who knew Lisa knew she was smart, kind and amazing.  Lisa was the ‘baby’ girl of a large family and she was genuinely cherished and loved by everyone who knew her.

Lisa had just started an exciting new job as VP of an insurance company in Tennessee, with plans to sell her house in Texas and move when she started having dizziness. Within weeks she was hospitalized and her husband and children were at her side quickly to support her and help move her back to Texas. A few weeks later, she had passed. No matter what the stage or progression of this disease, Lisa was always smiling and positive. When she could not talk, she would give ‘thumbs-up’.  Her immediate family, while devastated, were encouraging and supportive of everyone able to visit.

100% of every donation goes to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation for research. The cruelty and devistation caused by this disease to the patient and family cannot be explained.
